Basic Info

Noro transforms distributed work by creating life-size, fully immersive video conferencing portals that make people feel as if they’re sharing the same room,no matter where they are.

Our technology combines cinematic-quality LED displays, spatial audio, and precisely engineered camera placement to recreate natural eye contact, body language, and presence. Unlike conventional video conferencing, Noro enables true human connection at full scale—bridging the gap between Zoom calls and physical meetings.

Each Noro portal is a freestanding installation designed for offices, campuses, or public spaces. Portals connect instantly over a secure, low-latency network, allowing spontaneous conversations, workshops, or presentations to take place as naturally as in-person meetings. The result is deeper collaboration, reduced travel, and stronger culture across distributed teams.

Noro was founded by Tommaso Trionfi, a serial entrepreneur with multiple successful exits in technology (including Wimba, acquired by Blackboard, and Merchantry, acquired by Tradeshift). The leadership team combines expertise in audiovisual engineering, product design, and workplace experience.

The company’s technology originated from years of R&D around spatial interaction and communication design. Noro has filed multiple patents related to camera geometry, synchronization, and immersive capture.

We now operate portals in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and London, with more planned globally. Our early enterprise deployments have included pilots and installations with leading organizations in consulting, real estate, and industry.

Noro’s business model combines hardware and software:

  • The hardware (LED displays, structure, and audio chain) is delivered and installed by certified AV partners such as AVI-SPL, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Noro provides the software platform, which manages connections, scheduling, and monitoring between sites, and will form the basis of recurring SaaS revenue.

The company is transitioning from single-sale hardware projects to a hybrid recurring model driven by software licensing and managed services. This model reduces friction for enterprise customers while generating predictable, high-margin revenue for Noro.

Recent updates include:

  • Microsoft Teams integration, enabling seamless one-touch participation in enterprise environments.
  • Phone casting, allowing users to share content or control sessions directly from mobile devices.
  • The formation of an Advisory Board that includes Jeremy Bailenson (Stanford’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab) and Nicholas Bloom (Stanford economist and global authority on hybrid work). Their insights help shape Noro’s product roadmap and workplace strategy.

Noro has been recognized for its innovation, winning “Best AV Technology of Show” at ISE Barcelona alongside major players such as Samsung and HP.

Our mission is to enable a world where distance no longer limits collaboration—reducing travel, strengthening distributed culture, and supporting sustainability while restoring the sense of presence that defines real human interaction.

Why work with us

1. True Presence, Not Just Video

Noro delivers what traditional conferencing systems cannot — a life-size, natural experience that recreates physical presence across locations. Through precise camera geometry, cinematic LED displays, and spatial audio, participants maintain natural eye contact and body language, feeling truly “in the same room.” This human realism drives better engagement, trust, and collaboration than any flat screen or multi-tile video grid.

2. Seamless Integration Into Enterprise Workflows

Noro integrates directly with Microsoft Teams, allowing users to join or receive calls through their familiar collaboration environment. Our new phone casting feature lets participants share content or control sessions from mobile devices, reducing friction and making the system intuitive for enterprise adoption.

3. Designed for the Future of Work

Where others build conferencing tools, Noro reimagines the workspace itself. The portal is both architectural and technological, transforming underused office areas into dynamic, connected spaces that foster real interaction. This combination of design thinking and engineering expertise positions Noro at the intersection of workplace design, AV innovation, and human connection.

4. Scalable, Reliable, and Partner-Driven

Unlike hardware-heavy competitors that require proprietary service models, Noro scales globally through certified AV integrators such as AVI-SPL. This partnership-based approach ensures reliable installation, local support, and consistent quality while allowing Noro to focus on the software and experience layer.

5. Backed by World-Leading Expertise

Our Advisory Board includes Jeremy Bailenson (Stanford’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab) and Nicholas Bloom(Stanford economist and authority on hybrid work). Their research and insights directly inform our product development and workplace strategy — ensuring Noro not only delivers technical excellence but aligns with the future of how people work and connect.

6. Proven Leadership and Execution

Noro’s founding team brings deep experience in building, scaling, and exiting technology companies. CEO Tommaso Trionfi previously led multiple successful ventures (including Wimba and Merchantry) through growth, fundraising, and acquisition. This experience ensures disciplined execution, customer focus, and a clear path to profitability.

7. Meaningful Impact

By replacing short business trips and enabling real collaboration without travel, Noro helps companies reduce costs, lower emissions, and strengthen distributed culture — making sustainability not just a message, but a measurable outcome.

In short, Noro offers a category-defining solution that merges presence, performance, and practicality — a new standard for connecting the modern workplace.
