Expanding into Europe requires several threads, starting with the basics of understanding what am I selling, who am I selling to, where am I selling it and am I affected by European regulations are fundamental.
Prior to hiring a General manager Europe or SVP sales we do the groundwork. This is undertaken in 2 workstreams.

We support US based CEOs, boards and executive teams to align thinking and test assumptions prior to committing to a full launch into Europe. This approach means that customer validation and testing can take place whilst simultaneously evaluating the different legal jurisdictions and the European regulatory environments.
Once these are understood and committed to with a go to market plan, we support the business to accelerate their plan and handover to a new general manager and / or SVP. We then stay on as needed in an European advisory capacity or cycle out of the business.
